The following are exempt from holding a visa

Passengers with a British passport for a maximum stay of 90 days.

Passengers with a Chinese Taipei (on the cover Republic of China Taiwan) passport for a maximum stay of 90 days.

Nationals of Afghanistan, Albania, Andorra, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Brazil, Chile, China (People’s Rep.), Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Georgia, Guatemala, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Japan, Jordan, Kosovo (Rep.), Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lao People’s Dem. Rep., Lebanon, Marshall Isl., Mexico, Moldova (Rep.), Mongolia, Myanmar, Nicaragua, Oman, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tajikistan, Thailand, USA, Uruguay, Viet Nam and Yemen with a diplomatic passport.

Passengers with “The Palestinian Authority” VIP passport.

Nationals of China (People’s Rep.) with a service passport.

Nationals of Argentina, Myanmar, Nicaragua, Panama and Paraguay with a consular passport.

Passengers with an Entry Clearance issued by the Director General Gambia Immigration to refugees and stateless persons.

Passengers with a residence permit issued by Gambia.

Passengers traveling as tourists on a charter flight.

Passengers with a Laissez-Passer issued by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) traveling on duty.

The following applies to Merchant Seamen
Visa required, except for Merchant Seamen who are nationals of Gambia.

WARNING! When the Merchant Seamen depart from Norway and transit through another Schengen Member State, they must have a Schengen visa to transit.

Warning
Merchant Seamen must travel on duty and have a Letter of Employment or a Letter of Guarantee issued by the shipping company.

Same regulations as for passengers apply.

The following applies to Military Personnel
Visa not required for US Military Personnel holding US Military ID or official passport, where they will be permitted for a max. stay of 90 days or issued with a 5 year visa endorsement.

Nationals of USA can obtain a visa on arrival.

Important
Visitors not holding return/onward tickets could be refused entry.

Nationals of Bahamas, Dominican Rep., Haiti, Indonesia, Jamaica, Kenya, Korea (Rep.), Mauritius, Namibia, Philippines, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Timor-Leste, Turkey, Uganda and Zimbabwe must obtain an entry clearance from the Gambian Immigration prior to travel.

This does not apply when traveling as a tourist on a charter flight.

In addition to a visa, nationals of Algeria, Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Rep., Chad, Comoros, Congo, Congo (Dem. Rep.), Djibouti, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Libya, Madagascar, Moldova (Rep.), Mozambique, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan and Tunisia must obtain an entry clearance prior to travel from the Gambian Immigration.

This does not apply when traveling as a tourist on a charter flight.

In addition to a visa, holders of Hong Kong (SAR China) passports must obtain an entry clearance prior to travel from the Gambian Immigration.
