Kachikally Crocodile Pool is one of the most unusual attractions in The Gambia. This sacred pool is believed by locals to have spiritual powers related to fertility and good fortune. Dozens of Nile crocodiles live around the pool, yet visitors can safely approach and even touch some of them under supervision. The crocodiles are well fed and accustomed to humans. The site also includes a small cultural museum displaying traditional Gambian history, artifacts, and photographs.
