Bijilo Forest Park (Monkey Park)
Activity • Senegambia
Bijilo Forest Park is often called Monkey Park because of the many friendly monkeys that live in the forest. Visitors walking along the sandy paths often encounter green vervet monkeys and red colobus monkeys swinging through the trees. The park protects one of the last remaining patches of coastal forest in The Gambia. Wooden trails and shaded paths make it easy for visitors to explore the ecosystem while spotting birds, butterflies, and small wildlife. Because it is located near the main tourist area, Bijilo Forest Park is one of the most accessible nature attractions in the country. Why visit: See monkeys up close Easy nature walk near the beach Great for families and photographers
